This year Alia Investments celebrates its 55th Anniversary. On the joyous occasion Alia has planned numerous events to be held within the year 2019.
One of such events as part of the celebration was a CSR initiative in a joint effort with Male’ City Council to battle the environmental threat the capital city faces due to constant littering in the harbor. To tackle this issue on 14th May 2019, Alia donated a Utility Boat along with all the required equipment.
As per the understanding between Alia and Male’ City Council, this 19ft Utility boat with YAMAHA 2-stroke 25 horsepower engine will be used for regular cleaning of the harbor area of Male’ City. An official event was held at Male’ City council for the handover of the Utility boat, in attendance of Male’ City Mayor Ms. Aminath Shifa signing the MOU on behalf of Male’ City Council.
During her speech, Ms. Shifa thanked Alia for the contribution towards the cause and highlighted the importance of tackling the issue of littering the oceans.
Through this CSR gesture, Alia aims to accomplish the goal of doing our part in environmental protection and contribute to raising awareness and putting an effort to keep the oceans waste free.
